There was this week-or-so span where I had a vague bit of "Bring me to Life" stuck in my head and it honestly freaked me out... It was haunting and I could not figure out what it was and what it was from.
I thought maybe Kingdom Hearts? And it drove me crazy until I found it or figured out how to describe it to Penguin/ or maybe work up the guts to sing that part to her or something? I don't remember. I swear this series is going to have more better stuff than this, but I was listening to the song and thought of this and was also feeling bored and wanted to write something so here it is lol.

Singing the Praises of Aloe Vera

I burned my finger testing my shepherd's pie today. I hesitated (trying to figure out if it was hot enough at the bottom; obviously it was hot enough on top) before rinsing in cold water. I put it back in the oven for a few minutes and ran my finger under more cold water. Then, as it was red and poooossssibly slightly swollen?? and still hurting, I got out the aloe vera and now, ~45 minutes later, my finger is completely better.

Day 3: Favorite Interaction (isn't this the same as yesterday~~~) I guess when she gives sora the charm, since today's could be more of a what's happening/being said than the whole scene which would be yesterday?

Dry Highlighters: A Cautionary Tale

When your highlighter is beginning to dry out, you may consider licking it to encourage the ink. DON'T DO THIS.
Related note: Don't use your highlighter(s) in a steamy bath/shower (I was out of books to read so I decided to work on annotating WoF). It will have the same effect.

What makes a Catchphrase Good or Annoying? Also; Happy Pi Day, Everyone!!!

So we're watching Cyberchase, and Inez says "this is not good. This is not good at all!" and Penguin says "I've heard her say that so many times. I think it's a catchphrase." and I'm all "Well of course it's a catchphrase" and I start thinking, Her catchphrase is super annoying. But Digit's [Yoikes!] is awesome. Why? So here's a list of the qualities of good and bad catchphrases. :-)

• "Got it memorized?"
• "Curse you, Perry the platypus"
• "The same thing we do every night, Pinky: Try to take over the WORLD!!!!!"

A one-word catchphrase is one that is thrown into other phrases, like Applejack's "sugar cube", not a whole phrase, but used very often by the character.

One word catchphrases:

• "Darling"
• "Thrilling!"
• "Sugar cube"
• "Yoikes"
• "Gawrsh"
• "Ahyuck"

So. Bad catchphrases:

• Long
• Repetitive
• Wordy
• Doesn't make sense for the character
• Doesn't make sense for the world
• Used in bad context (This is the worst one for me, and hurts catchphrases such as "as if" and "ahyuck")(Don't get me started on Ahyuck)
• Unmemorable
• Slow

Good catchphrases:

• Makes sense for the character
• Makes sense for the world
• Quick (Not necessary)
• Unique
• But not too unique
• Used in good context
• Memorable
• Makes sense for the type and genre of the media (e.g. a closing remark of a kids' tv show)
• Funny (not necessary)

Catchphrases are often used along with a specific gesture ("Got it memorized?" "Eso es!!") or meter ("Tee-aye-double-guh-rrr", "Free and in the wild") which also affects the oodness of the catchphrase, for example, a full body motion won't fit well in all scenarios, and a slow meter will take a long time and that is one reason why "this is not good. this is not good at all" doesn't work: it is meant to be used in contexts of an immediate threat, but the time it takes to say it all feels wrong as it will detract from the time you have to come up with a solution.

good catchphrase though because although it's awkward after the first
episode (and makes sense in the context of the first episode [two
little boys just ordered enough steel to make a citywide roller
coaster] and should in other episodes if it wasn't made clear that the
kids are well known now and shouldn't be questioned), it's made into a
well done in-show trope because it is constantly subverted and joked
with (construction worker: "aren't you a little young to-" other
construction worker: "yes, yes they are. Sorry, Phineas, he's new.";
"aren't you kids too young for a haunted house?" Kids screaming in
terror: "YES! YES WE ARE!!"; etc)

Ok, fair point; in my defense I haven't really watched much Phineas and Ferb, and I haven't watched those episodes. She also said that this was a really good post!! :-) thanks bro.

What do you want to see in media (tv, books, whatev)? Like, idk. This is kind of going off of my "Things I find Adorable" post but more requesty. Lol so like basically i got writer's block and I want a challenge sorta so like, a character trait, a description of a character, a description of a relationship (like, one of them keeps making burnt cookies and never learns to set the timer for less but only because the other one doesn't mind burnt cookies and the first one wants to give all the cookies to the second, only not that bc they're dogs so), or smth that you want to read about or whatever lol ok bye

A BEAUTIFUL ALLITERATIVE TITLE. Honestly, I don't know how I do it. Anyway, I really need to work on my novel, so I was reading this article on How Not to Write a Novel, and it is truly inspiring. So inspiring, in fact, that I am going to write!! (About writing)

Kingdom Hearts Vs. Kingdom Hearts II

I can't make a two-column comparison or anything so.

First we'll talk about individual mechanics, then broader things compared game to game. I'm bored so let's add Days and Re:Coded and CoM.
Spoilers will be marked like this. There shouldn't be spoilers for games other than the one that the section is about, and 1 and 2 but. Y'know. Also: be wary of pics and vids; they are likely to be spoilery! Check the words first, and then proceed. :-)

Funny story: I just watched an "Unpopular KH Opinions" video, and like 80% of the points were my legitimate feelings? And about half of them seemed like actual, popular things? So? Idk?

1: Trinity marks are good } Heck yes bruh
2. Manga is better than game } In it's own way, sure
3. Destiny Islands is boring. } NO way. But I have seen people who think this; and I can understand this.
4. Hundred Acre Wood is best part of game. Love unwinding with Pooh and co. } No; but when I was younger this was too true for words.
5. Combat system is bad } N.. I haven't really thought about it, but I don't think so.
6. Cloud looks better in this than FFVII } Idk.
7. Riku's progression to villain was too rushed } I could see that. But. I don't like Riku regardless. So.
8. Picking sword/shield/staff didn't seem to matter by end, they should make it matter more in future installments for replayability } This is true. The first part anyway. Idk if it should make a difference later though.
9. Only good thing about gummi ships is customizing; flying is tedious, and timewasting } I disagree with this; but in my experience, this is actually a popular opinion.
10. Kairi was meaningless } Uh-huhhh. Sure.
11. While summons look cool, but almost never use them. } Yep. Except Tinkerbell.
12. Neverland worse than Atlantica; flying mechanic was bad } No. No no.
13. Swimming and Atlantica were great } Definitely not. No one thinks that.
14. Magic system was clunky and bad } Maybe. But I still like Aero.
15. Story peaked at this game; simplest plot } Oh yes
16. Ice Titan hardest boss; Sephiroth easy once you know his pattern } haha nope. Even if the second part were true, the "hardest boss" would have to be the Phantom. You can just block for most of the Ice Titan fight.
17. Too simple; characters seem like lazy stereotypes. Fixed in later games. } Nah. Inverted. Mostly. Yeah.
All in all I think they mixed up what video they were doing.

Oh I'm excited that it seems like there's going to be--at least in some worlds--original storylines!!! Given what we know about Big Hero 6 world. . .

KHI: 

Ummm idk. I like how sometimes in this game, you're forced to play without Donald and Goofy; there are multiple instances of this, the first (other than Destiny Islands, of course) is in Deep Jungle. There's also (off the top of my head) if you get bad evidence in Wonderland, a lot of Hollow Bastion, When you go to fight Hercules (because Sora [accidentally wrote out Hercules and looked over and realized...] is too hotheaded), and... Yeah is that it? Idk. But as I was saying, I love it cuz of the story reasons why it happens. In KHII, there's: Luxord battle, uhh I think all/most of the battles in what's that place called with like the gravestones or whatever? Idk, I just remember luxord... Final battle. Some of the Colosseum Underworld arena battles. Like... idk. Mostly, in that game, it's all for fights, and there's little to no story impact/reason. Other than at the end which is mostly just so we can have emu-sora. Which is great don't get me wrong.

Anyhow. My fave part member........................... uhh idk, maybe Peter Pan? Oh yeah I was also going to mention that you have to have Peter in your party to fight the Phantom bc he's the only one who can understand Tink.
