Who Doesn't Love Precipitation?

Mmmmm.

It's raining very sporadically. Like, BOOM raining. 1 minute later, overcast and stuffy. 2 min later, partly cloudy and very cold wind. 5 min later, sunny and cold. 57 seconds later, pouring rain. 4 min later, overcast and windy. 2 hours later, partly cloudy and cool temperatures. Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

BUT! 

It is all worth the insanity, because of the lovely petrichor floating in through my window, and the fact that Drought is misbehaving. Regardless of Drought though, I always love the rain. Some favorite rain activities (notice not "rainy day activities", just rain) of mine are:

• Jump in puddles
• Build a shelter (outside)
• Catch rain on your tongue without falling over backwards
• Play "Raindrop Race"
• Make shapes and messages (preferably backwards messages, and dollar signs) in the condensation on the car windows
• WORMIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
• Have a rain party (I never actually got to try this... looking at you Penguin)
• Feel the rain on the ceiling of the car [I just totally disgraced the word "ceiling"... Celing Ceeling Cealing Celeing...] 
• Ride your bike through the puddles and make spray
• Open the window, turn on a fan, and play an imagination game

Rain games to play with your dog:

• "Jump in the Puddles While [your dog's name] Either Looks at you like you're a Martian, or Joins you Excitedly"
• "Build a Shelter Outside, to Keep you Both Relatively Warm and Dry"
• "Have a Party in the Sunroom, or other Window-ful Room in your House, with Potato Chips, Cookies, Dog Treats/Kibble, and Any other Yummy Food you have on Hand"
• "Do Training Outside, Teach [your dog's name] to be Careful and not Slip on Wet Things"

To play "Raindrop Race":

1. Situate yourself near a non-screened window (works in car)
2. Choose two raindrops that are near the same height; if in car especially on highway, use lengthwise
3. Watch them, and choose one to root for
4. See who wins!
5. If one wins too far ahead of the other, pick another raindrop to compete.

For "Wormies":

1. Go on a highway, or, if you want the full experience, find an empty backroad (or if you're lucky, you have a large property and you can go there), and turn off the windshield wipers
2. Drive quickly, but don't get arrested
3. Watch in amusement as the droplets on the windshield turn into...

         WORMIES!!!!!

To "Feel the rain on the ceiling of the car":

              This only works when it is raining extra heavily!

1. Find a safe spot to park, but not under trees!! It must be raining on the car.
2. Stay in the car
3. Put your hands over your head, and press the palms onto the ceiling of the vehicle
4. Feel the pattering rain
5. Try moving your hands around (on the back window, on the front window, on the middle of the car, on the sides, etc) to feel the difference with different mediums.
