Um. So. Teacher's Pet.
spoilers, although really i don't recommend this movie

1. 3+(?) references to old Disney movies, progressively less obvious
2. the dog wants to be a human
3. he can already talk to humans
4. and pass as a human when he tucks his ears and tail into his hat and pants
5. even though he's blue
6. so anyway
7. he goes to this "wacko" who can supposedly turn animals into people 
8. although he can't
9. but that's resolved in seconds when spot/scott (the dog) figures out that Dr. Krank or. . mr, i don't think that man's EVER been to medical school.. should be using mammals instead of swamp creatures-- reptiles, amphibians, and insects
10. and so he volunteers as test subject
11. and what it works
12. so now spot is a human
13. scott
14. but he's a man
15. like a grown up
16. cuz you know... he's a dog
17. so he's not really a child
18. ok but then he goes back to the rv with his boy
19. and they have to make up a wild story for his mom
20. but then they start falling in love
21. and at the end of the night scott starts calling leonard (the boy) son and stuff and leonard knows what's up: this is wrong on every possible level
22. anyway scott leaves yada yada eventually he turns back into a dog but not before turning into a pile of blue ash. . . 
23. oi this movie was all over the place.
24. oh also the mom's the kid and the dog (as scott lead-whatever)'s teacher
25. so that adds to the wrongness levels.
26. also the character designs are disgusting
27. and the opening logo is the disney castle but WAY MESSED UP.
