In Which I Die a Couple of Times

if you haven't read Winter Turning, and all preceding books, stop now and wait a month after reading them all to read this.
ESCAPING PERIL'S COVER HAS BEEN OUT FOR LIKE A MONTH NOW, ALONG WITH THIS DESCRIPTION (if I can find it somewhere...) *looks for about an hour* AHA found it. Thank you dragondolphin616 for posting the original blurb for Escaping Peril on the Wings of Fire Forums. Here it is:

Peril is a SkyWing, but not like any other SkyWing. Her abilities - which sometimes seem more like a curse than a gift - had kept her away from other dragonets, and Scarlet made her do terrible things.

But not anymore. Peril is now a student at Jade Mountain Academy, and she's about to be sent on an important mission, one that only she can do. But to do it, she'll have to go up against Scarlet - the only dragon more powerful than she is.

Peril has been loyal to Queen Scarlet, who used her fatal firescales to kill countless dragons in the SkyWing arena. Now, Peril is loyal to Clay, the only dragonet who has ever been her friend. So when Scarlet threatens Jade Mountain Academy, Peril sets off to find her former queen, stop her, and save the day, no matter what it takes.

There's just one problem: a strangely persistent SeaWing, Turtle, insists on coming along too. Turtle is worried about his friends, who left to search for Scarlet and haven't returned. Peril is worried that she might accidentally burn Turtle -- or burn him on purpose, for being so annoying -- and frustrated that she keeps saying and doing the wrong things. She can't escape her firescales, and she can't escape her reputation as deadliest dragon in Pyrrhia.

So when she's offered a chance to trade everything for a second chance, Peril has to decide who she's really loyal to . . . And whether her own scales might actually be worth saving.
